Dr. Robert P. Lonergan
Dr. Robert P. Lonergan graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School in 1995. He completed Orthopaedic Residency and has been Board Certified since 2002 after completing a fellowship in Sports Medicine in Denver, Colorado. He was re-certified in 2012. During his fellowship he had the opportunity to treat athletes ranging from amateurs to professionals. He previously served as team physician for Cordova High School. His professional interests include sports medicine with special attention to minimally invasive/arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement. Prior to relocating to Memphis in 2004, Dr. Lonergan was in private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. He served as a teaching physician for his residency program during his time there as well. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as local and state medical societies. He has published articles, including a paper on the Relationship between Length of Stay and Dislocation After Total Hip Arthroplasty. Dr. Lonergan and his wife Paige have three children, all boys. He enjoys lake life, running, and recreational athletics.
